WORKFLOW EVALUATION

Make the improvement
visible.

Measure what changes for patients and staff, including the work the new system introduces.

Illustrative scene for the MediLink product vision.

IN PRACTICE

Compare equivalent work.

A practical starting point to explore with your team.

01

Define the unit

Choose the task, visit, or shift you will measure and the population it applies to.

02

Measure the baseline

Record effort, elapsed time, workload, and relevant conditions.

03

Count the full change

Include review, correction, training, and coordination work—not just typing avoided.

04

Check where time goes

Assess whether recovered capacity is usable, alongside experience and quality.

KEEP MEASURES DISTINCT

Staff time and patient waiting
are different measures.

A shorter administrative task does not automatically shorten the patient’s entire visit. Other constraints can still determine the next step.

Measure direct staff effort and patient elapsed times separately, account for urgency and operating conditions, and avoid attributing unrelated changes to the software.

LET’S MAKE TIME FOR CARE

A better shift.
A better chance to care.

Help shape emergency care that gives people and teams more of what matters.
